Fairway National Literary Awards 2018

Fairway National Literary Awards 2018

The Fairway National Literary Awards was initiated in 2015 as a companion piece to Fairway Holdings’ sponsorship of the Fairway Galle Literary Festival. This award recognises novelists in all three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English and rewards shortlisted authors with a cash prize of Rupees One Hundred Thousand each and the three winners with a cash prize of Rupees Five Hundred Thousand each.

The primary objectives of FNLA were to provide the opportunity for talented local authors to achieve national level significance and to encourage aspiring authors. This venture of Fairway Holdings is also a part of its efforts to recognise the importance of the arts and culture of our country as well as to create lasting peace and harmony among all Sri Lankans.

The shortlist announcement ceremony for FNLA 2018 took place on the 30th of August and 5 Sinhala novels, 5 Tamil novels and 4 English novels were shortlisted.
